Throughout history, from prehistoric times until the beginning of the last century, the Orkhon Valley has been a major center of life for Mongolians. Capital cities have risen and fallen, monks have meditated here, kings have been buried and nomads have settled their felt tents next to the water of the Orkhon River. We will be following the river past ancient monasteries, waterfalls, and the “ Eight Lakes” National Park. While trekking, yak carts carry your luggage.
