The Eight Lakes region, cradled in the protection of the Hangai Nuruu mountain range, is home to a great variety of wildflowers. This trek is appropriate for anyone fit enough to undertake moderate walking and hiking for 4 to 5 hours a day, carrying a light day pack. We move at a moderate pace allowing for plenty of stops. The main trip highlight is the local Naadam in Bat Ulziit soum, the traditional celebration of Mongolia's traditional sports of horse racing, wrestling, and archery. The proceeds from the festival tickets go towards renovation of the village's primary school and hospital. Other trip highlights include beautiful scenery, experiencing nomadic culture, and a chance to exprience village life.
